Kuwait wants two more interception bases equipped with missiles Patriot. This is what emerges from the documents issued by Federal Business Opportunities of the United States. The OAS has already confirmed that theArmy Corps of Engineers has already solicited the companies that intend to submit an offer for the construction of the two new air defense sites at Ahmed al-Jaber Air Base and Alì al-Salem Air Base. The contract also includes interventions in the operations center south of Kuwait city.

Kuwait is already protected by five tactical defense bases, each of which is equipped with a battalion Patriot for a total of 30-based missiles (five six-missile launchers). Two more battalions Patriot will be deployed in the two new bases bringing the line of fire to 210 missiles always ready for launch.

In August of 2010, the Defense Security Cooperation Agency signed a contract for 209 missiles Patriot PAC-2. Other 60 missiles in the PAC-3 variant were purchased in 2012 from Kuwait.

Documents Federal Business Opportunities do not specify the details of the new supply. The two new bases will be equipped, in addition to the launchers, with all the various support structures such as the discovery / tracking radar and the control station.

The sixty surface-to-air missiles will be directed towards Iran.
