Serious plane crash at the Spanish base in Albacete. Around 15.00 around hours and for reasons still unknown, a Greek F-16 aircraft impacted the ground near the ground flight line.

A large number of NATO aircraft were involved in the impact and were participating in the TLP (Tactical Leadership Program) course, including Italian aircraft.

At the moment there are 9 wounded among the Italian military personnel present in Albacete, two of whom, whose conditions are being investigated in the hospital, and the others with minor injuries. The family members of all the personnel involved have been informed. Italy participates in the TLP course in progress with 2 AMX aircraft of the 51 ° Istrana Wing of the Italian Air Force and with 5 Harrier aircraft AV8 B of the Italian Navy.

The Tactical Leadership Program (TLP), which has been based at the Albacete Air Base in Spain since July 2009, is an organization founded on the basis of an agreement signed by 10 Nations (Italy, Spain, United States, United Kingdom, France, Belgium, Holland, Greece, Germany and Denmark). Italy joined the TLP as a signatory nation in January 1996. Its mission is to improve the effectiveness of the air operations conducted by the Allied Forces by promoting the development of assertive leadership skills and the skills of analysis, planning, execution and evaluation. of "combined (international)" aerial activities required of a "Mission Commander".
