The United States will spend almost 600 billion in Defense

20/05/15

The House Appropriations Committee has published its draft law on Pentagon military spending on the 2016, with an overall budget of 578,6 billion dollars, 24,4 billions more than the current financial year. At the war fund for the fiscal year 2016, we need to add more 40 billion dollars for "necessary expenses".

The supplement will serve to make all US armed forces operational. Considering the fixed costs of the budgets that by law cannot be cut (such as the Delta Force, Navy Seal and the entire Tier-1 group balance sheets) in addition to those for the "black projects", the expenditure could reach 800 billion.

The House Commission (as well as that of the Senate) on the appropriations is responsible for the expenditure of the US government.

88,4 billion has been provided for OCO "overseas contingency operations" (emergency operations abroad).

The document reads: "This funding will provide the necessary resources for the preparation and management of our forces in the field, including the needs of staff, operational needs, the purchase of new aircraft to replace combat losses, combat vehicles , security changes, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) maintenance of facilities and equipment. It will also guarantee the fundamental support for our allies, such as Ukraine and Jordan, to resist future aggressions ".

The House Commission, in the bill, proposes 116,7 billion for the equipment of all branches of the army, 99 billions of supplies for all the American bases in the world and 18,1 billions in the OCO missions (3 billions more than what allocated in the current budget).

The Commission supports most of the main Pentagon weapons programs.

8,4 billion for 65 fighter F-35 (photo below).

16,9 billions for nine Navy ships, including two DDG-51 destroyers and three Littoral Combat Ships (picture on the right).

1,2 billion for 64 attack helicopters AH-64.

3 billion for Boeing's P-16A Poseidon 8 aircraft.

1,6 billion for 102 helicopters UH-60 Black Hawk from Sikorsky.

2,3 billion for 12 tanker aircraft KC-46.

660 million for seven EA-18G Growler (opening photo).

350 million for five FA-18 E / F Super Hornet fighters and 315 million for "lethality upgrades" on the Strykers.

The bill also proposes 55 million dollars for the Iron Dome, the joint missile defense program implemented by the United States and Israel.

Finally, the Commission ensures economic support for all high-profile initiatives such as the new Air Force long-range bomber, the Navy's UCLASS system and the Ohio class upgrade program.
