The Italian Eurofighters debut at the Red Flag

The Air Force Eurofighter Typhoons this week made their first appearance in one of the best-known military exercises in the world.

La Red Flag, held at the Air Force base in Nellis in Nevada, is a realistic combat training exercise involving aerial, space and cyber assets.

Eight Italian Typhoons, of the 4th, 36th and 37th Stormo made their appearance led by commander Marco Bertoli.

They are now taking part in missions, along with 76 other aircraft, in different combat scenarios and using a training area over 15.000 square miles of airspace.

The responsibility of the Red Flag is entrusted to the 414th Combat Training Squadron.

Planes depart from Nellis twice a day and can perform up to five hours of continuous flight.
