The coalition air strikes in Syria and Iraq of March 28-29

The United States and the military coalition forces also attacked the terrorists of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria today. We update on the details of the latest bombings, which took place between 08:00 on March 28 and 08:00 today, local time.

Air strikes in Syria

A fighter carried out an air raid near Kobani, an attack destroying a tactical group and a vehicle.

Air strikes in Iraq

Fighters, bombers and remotely piloted aircraft conducted 14 air raids:

- Near Bayji, an attack hit a tactical unit and destroyed a combat station;

- Near Fallujah, an attack destroyed an excavator;

- Near Mosul, three air strikes hit two tactical units and destroyed two combat posts, two vehicles, two heavy machine guns and a building;

- Near Tal Afar, three attacks hit a large tactical unit, a storage facility, a combat station and destroyed a building and a heavy machine gun;

- Near Tikrit, six attacks hit six tactical units and destroyed a combat station and anti-aircraft gun.

All the aircraft have returned to the base.

Operation Inherent Resolve

The attacks were conducted as part of Operation Inherent Resolve. The operation aims to eliminate the terrorist group ISIS and the threat it poses to Iraq, Syria, the region, and the wider international community.

The destruction of targets in Syria and Iraq aims to limit the capabilities of the terrorist group and to design military and terrorist operations.

The coalition nations participating in the air strikes in Iraq are: the United States, Australia, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, France, Jordan, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom.

The coalition nations participating in the air strikes in Syria are: the United States, Bahrain, Jordan, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
