The US Navy will kick off the third round of sea trials for the F-35C starting next August 1st. This is what the F-35 Program Executive Officer communicates.

Sea trials will take place aboard the USS George Washington, off the east coast of the United States. The F-35C have flown previously from the USS bridge Nimitz, in November of the 2014 and from Dwight D. Eisenhower, in October last year.

In the previous tests, the pilots tested the catapults, and carried out touch and go during day and night hours. Finally, simulated launches with internal equipment.

The F-35 model C should become operational in the 2018.

Meanwhile, even the Marine Corps is about to start a development test phase that will take place aboard the USS America (photo below), off the west coast. Tests with the F-35B will begin next fall.

Previously, the Marines carried out two sea trials on the USS Wasp, respectively in October of 2011 and in August of 2013.
