Turkey and Ukraine never so close. The two countries, also united by the "new" common enemy (Russia), have begun negotiations that will result in an agreement for a new program to modernize the Ukrainian tanks by the Turks. Involved in the Turkish operation Aselsan and the ukraine Ukroboronprom: companies are exploring ways to "undertake joint programs to improve tanks". Cooperation that will also expand to other branches of the armed forces.

La Aselsan, the 30 last November, announced the signing of a contract with the Turkish government for the production of a system designed to protect tanks and armored vehicles from anti-tank missiles.

Baptized "Akkor", theActive Protection System has been specifically designed forAltay, the third-generation Turkish tank. Inspired by the K2 Black Panther, the program Altay is an ambitious project for 1000 heavy tanks divided into four lots by 250 systems. The first batch of 250 Altay is in production and should be completed within the 2020.

The Ukrainians would really like the system Akkor on their T-64BM "Bulat" tanks and the two companies are working hard to further refine the active protection system.
