Against the ISIS must unleash special departments: killer vs monsters

14/02/15

Fourth firefight between ISIS extremists and Canadian special forces in northern Iraq. The threat has been eliminated without any loss. The news was issued a few hours ago by the Ottawa government. The contact happened last Thursday, 12 February, with dynamics similar to the previous clashes.

The heavily armored (and disguised) convoy formed by elements of the Joint Operations Force 2 / 427 Special Operations Aviation Squadron, last Thursday, was a few miles from the front during a reconnaissance mission when it was hit by a few mortar rounds. More than anything else, shots fired at random in an attempt to frighten what at first glance might have seemed an easy prey.

Unfortunately for ISIS terrorists, those affected were not unprepared Westerners, perhaps in some humanitarian mission, but experts in asymmetric counter-insurgency and covered by air support. The Canadians, in concert with the American special departments, would be about to expand the scope of the "targeting leader" missions.

A few seconds after being hit by enemy fire, Canadians counterattack by eliminating the threat without loss. From the Canadian government they do not provide other information, limiting themselves to confirming that the dynamics of the four contacts had are similar to each other.

The fourth clash between the fundamentalists and the Canadian special departments, takes place at a very particular time. A few hours after the unsuccessful attempt by the terrorists to attack the Al Asad Marine base and from the draft resolution of the US Congress which, if approved, would authorize (officially, but in fact is already so) "operations fighting in limited circumstances, targeting leaders and man hunting.

The operations of "Targeting Leader" and "Man Hunting" are real raids aimed at eliminating not only enemy commanders, but of their entire chain of command, logistics and finance.

The Western Hunter Killers, also on paper, would have white card for the elimination of the targets that, with the new resolution, would become several.

The proposal to take military action against the ISIS leadership is a fundamental piece in the strategy of fighting terrorism in Iraq, similar to the operations that the United States, Canada and allies have carried out in Afghanistan against the Taliban.

The elimination of high-profile targets would be entrusted only to a few select teams capable of conducting this type of operation alongside US Tier-1.

But authorizing these types of missions is also very risky. Beyond the logistical aspect that considerably increases the efforts made, the danger for operators grows exponentially due to the infiltration (and exfiltration) of small teams in totally hostile territory. And there is always the risk that something may go wrong.

It is also true, however, that unleashing the special departments could be the only solution to end the war in months and not in years.

Special Departments officially deployed against ISIS

All departments are part of the Task Force Black even if each body acts in a completely autonomous way and with asymmetrical and unconventional rules of engagement. After the "terror" brought by the Sas and by the American Tier-1 (night elimination of targets, ambushes), all the special departments deployed adopted the "wolves disguised as sheep".

USA: Navy Seal / Delta Force / Tier-1

"We are the best killers in the world"

The priority mission of the American special departments is to disrupt the ISIS command structure. The groups act in counter-guerrilla missions, ambushes, high-profile target elimination, manhunts. Missed some missions to free hostages. The arrival of a Marine force supported by Berretti Verdi and Delta is imminent. Each operation is "covered" by the entire air force deployed by the United States.

Great Britain: SAS

"The only way to deal with these monsters is to send our best soldiers. And our people know perfectly well how to fight monsters. Darkness is our habitat ”.

Several SAS teams have been deployed for months in Iraq. The main goal is to spread panic among the terrorists, acting exclusively at night from a secret base in the impregnable desert, the Iraqi Area-51. The "Sixty" group acts autonomously in order to bring the head of John the Jihadist to London. Two thousand other men belonging to all branches of the British special forces will soon arrive in Iraq to fortify "the Area-51". Increased UAV air protection force. All Hunter Killer missions have been authorized.

France: Foreign Legion

"Revenge Paris"

The Foreign Legion took to the field to defend Paris. The Iraqi context is the perfect habitat for desert legionnaires who have been ordered to avenge "The Paris Massacre". According to unconfirmed sources, the first contact between the legionnaires and ISIS militants has already occurred with devastating losses for the terrorists. Legionaries will only have to do their work.

Canada: Joint Task Force 2 / 427 - Special Operations Aviation Squadron

"They believe us helpless and helpless, they believe they are easy prey"

Commands of the Joint Task Force 2 and the 427 Special Operations Aviation Squadron were deployed in support of the coalition special forces. Four firefights against jihadists in four weeks. Many downed targets, no losses. Canadians camouflage their convoys to look like an easy prey: they are supported by armed drones and F-18 that fly within seconds of the operating theater.

Australia: Special Air Service Regiment

"We know how to deal with these animals: they know we know these areas like our pockets"

Two SARS squads (200 men) were deployed in Iraq last November, officially tasked with assisting local militias. There are no reports of gunfights. SARS are the terror of the fundamentalists for their knowledge of the terrain and for the numerous experiences in the field. They have been operating in Iraq since the 2003 in counter-insurgency operations and shadow missions.

Netherlands: Korps CommandotroepenResearch two Korps Commandotroepen teams, the special departments of the Netherlands, experts in unconventional guerrilla warfare.

Italy: Task Force 45

Active for a little over a month, the men of the Task Force 45 (an Italian unit that does not officially exist) were deployed directly to the Combined Joint Task Force in the city of Arbil, in Iraqi Kurdistan. The 50 elements of TF45 act as "multipliers" for local troops and used in reconnaissance missions.

Jordan: Royal Special Operations Forces

"After each air attack, the Jordanian air force flies over the house of the pilot burned alive by ISIS terrorists: a way to honor the fallen and remind him and his family that the sacrifice was not in vain."

Trained by British and Americans and supported by the best secret services of the Region after Israel. Unleashing the anger and power of the eighth military power in the Middle East was not a good idea.

The total war threatened by Jordan could sanction the end of ISIS, from every point of view. 14mila are the members of the special departments in an army formed by 110 thousand men. Of the 1321 tanks in possession, at least one thousand are ready for combat.

After each air strike, the Jordanian air force flies over the house of the pilot burned alive by ISIS terrorists: a way to honor the fallen and remind him and his family that the sacrifice was not in vain.
