CIA: "We have always used students to spy on Russians"

The Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) used university students around the world to gather information during the Cold War. But this is nothing new.

Thus began an interview with Russian news agency Sputnik to former CIA officer Larry Johnson.

"Obtaining information and potential sources for the future is a priority for the secret services, indeed it is the basis of intelligence. CIA and KGB have always used all their resources at their disposal. American students spied on Third World countries and the Soviet Union for us ".

During the 1960, American university students traveled around the world on behalf of the Association National Student, funded by the CIA, to spy on dissident groups and opposing political factions.

Since the 50 years, the Agency has secretly financed educational and development institutions to conduct espionage activities. In the 1954, for example, the CIA helped create the international development organization The Asia Foundation with the official purpose of "undertaking cultural and educational activities on behalf of the United States government". In fact, according to a recently declassified CIA memorandum, The Asia Foundation was a parallel espionage program.

At present, US-Russian relations are the same as the Cold War due to the crisis in Ukraine and the closure of all communications between the Department of Defense and the Russian military.
