The interception took place over the past weekend, when a Russian plane violated Turkish airspace. Ankara's response was immediate, which caused two F-16 to take off in scramble.

The Russian Federation - reads an official statement from the Turkish Foreign Ministry - will be responsible for any unwanted incident that may occur.

The interception took place in the Yayladagi region, Hatay province, south of Turkey.

"The Russian plane was intercepted by two F-16 who escorted him until he left the Turkish airspace."

Turkey and Russia disagree about Assad's fate. For Ankara, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad should be dismissed. Moscow, on the other hand, supports the Syrian leader and his government.

In the last hours 24, meanwhile, the Russians have hit nine ISIS targets, while only yesterday Moscow conducted 25 sorties on Hama, Homs, Idlib and Latakia.

Finally, Bashar al-Assad interviewed by Iranian television Khabar TV thanked the coalition formed by Iran, Iraq, Syria and Russia for the successes achieved on the field against the terrorists.
