The Swiss aerobatic team also crashed. Perhaps a macabre coincidence, but in the space of 10 days there were 4 plane crashes involving military fighters of well-known acrobatic patrols.

June 9: Two Northrop F-5 Tigers belonging to the 'Patrouille Suisse' collided during a routine maneuver during a training flight over Leeuwarden Air Base in the Netherlands. One of the pilots managed to eject himself, injuring his foot. His plane crashed near a pond without causing casualties. The second pilot managed to bring his Tiger back to the ground.

9 June: during a demonstration flight a Sukhoi Su-27 'Flanker', belonging to the aerobatic team of the 'Russian Knights', crashed due to a technical failure near the village of Muranovo, Pushkino district of the Moscow region. The pilot, Major Sergey Eremenko, died in the crash. The entire Russian Su-27 fleet was grounded.

June 2: Within hours, an F-16 C Fighting Falcon from the USAF 'Thunderbirds' aerobatic squadron and an F-18 / A Hornet from the US Navy 'Blue Angels' aerobatic squadron crashed in Colorado and Tenesse. Major Alex Turner, at the controls of the Falcon, managed to eject himself without consequences. The jet crashed a few kilometers from Peterson Air Force Base: it was carrying out a demonstration flight during a ceremony attended by United States President Barack Obama. The F-18 pilot, Marine Captain Jeff Kuss, died in the accident near Smyrna airport. The causes of the two accidents have not yet been clarified.
