The French AWACS (Airborne Warning And Control System) used in anti-ISIS operation in the Operation Chammal reached the 150 flight hours on the theater of operations yesterday.

The E-3F Sentry of the Armée de l'Air, deployed at the American air base of Al Udeid in Qatar last March 31, was regularly employed for "command and control" missions within the international coalition that operates in Iraq and Syria to counter Daesh.

The French AWACS, belonging to the 36e escadre de commandement et de conduite aéroportée, made 15 sorties during which it guaranteed the "deconfliction" among the coalition's aerial vehicles (such as drones, fighters, tankers and bombers) coordinating the numerous operations conducted by the Allied aircraft (USAF, US NAVY, RAF, RJAF, RSAF) operating in extremely restricted airspace (where Russian VVS and Syrian SyAAF operate), guaranteeing security and cooperation.
