For almost a year, the successes and dramas recorded during the Mare Nostrum operation have been daily on the front pages of newspapers or in the openings of the news. Born in response to real tragedies of the sea, in the face of which only Italy has intervened decisively, the activity brings with it a trail of inevitable controversies.
To try to clarify the operational aspects - which are absolutely not to be confused with the political ones! - we interviewed the commander of the operation, Rear Admiral Francesco Sollitto, on the front line aboard the San Giusto ship.
