The exercise began last 11 April 2016 Saber Junction which sees paratroopers from different NATO countries engaged in training.
Italy contributes with units of the Italian Army, specifically from the brigade thunderbolt with a platoon of the 8 ° paratroopers sapper regiment, a heavy mortar section of the 185 parachute artillery regiment, a company of the 187 parachute regiment thunderbolt and a team of aircraft suppliers Parachuting Training Center.
The training of the air force ended today and saw the use of airplanes and tactical acts, in areas near the Hohenfels air base, about 5.000 units of paratroopers from different nations.
These airborne operations will be useful to verify the tactical interoperability of the Alliance's air force groups in the conduct of complex operations in different operational scenarios.
The exercise 2016 Saber Junction the next 24 Aprile will end and sees the participation of a C27 J aircraft of the Italian Air Force in support of the exercise.
