Jurists of the 29 ° Course of the Selected Reserve

Eighteen officers belonging to the 29th course of the Selected Reserve, including eight women, today took the oath in front of the flag of the Army Training and Application School Command, decorated with a silver medal for Military Valor.

The ceremony, presided over by Major General Flaviano Godio, commander of the courses department, took place in the evocative setting of the Arsenal Hall of Palazzo Arsenale for the occasion crowded with family members, friends and staff of the Institute of Military Studies. Gen. godio addressing those present underlined: "Faithfulness to the oath should not be proven only in grave moments or in danger, but it is a testimony that is silently honored in daily activities, acting with honesty and loyalty".

Eight officers come from northern Italy, five from the center and as many from the south. In possession of a cultural and professional background of interest for the Armed Forces, the personnel of the Selected Reserve follow a five-week training course which includes theoretical studies and practical exercises.

The 29th course includes an expert in rare languages, four architects, two historians, a mechanical engineer, five doctors, two lawyers, two geopolitical experts and a geologist. The aim of the course is to provide students with the basic tools for a profitable insertion into the reality of the Army, in anticipation of their future national or international employment.
