General Graziano, after thanking the authorities for the closeness of the institutions to the armed force and expressing words of appreciation to the army general Alberto Primicerj, commander of the Alpine troops and all the participants in the exercise, stressed the importance of of training in a mountain environment that “represents the best test to verify the efficiency and the training level of the troops, since to operate in absolute safety they must demonstrate to possess physical prowess, technical knowledge and full synergy between the individual components of the units ".
The event was attended, among others, by the president of the National Alpine Association, Sebastiano Favero, the prefect of Belluno and representatives of local municipal administrations.
The "Falzarego 2014" exercise represents an important opportunity for training and operational checks, during which technologically advanced materials and equipment are also tested, indispensable for a modern and efficient army.
In this edition of the "Falzarego 2014" representatives of other armed forces and of allied countries and friends also participated in order to increase inter-agency and international cooperation capacity.
Soldiers from France, Spain, Slovenia and Lebanon have worked with the Alpine troops. They have been representatives of Chile, Austria, Switzerland and Great Britain as observers.
There are many joint multinational initiatives in which the Italian army participates and is a promoter. Among these, the Multinational Land Force, based on the Alpine "Julia" brigade with the Hungarian and Slovenian personnel competition and the command of the Italo- non-permanent Alpine brigade French, composed of the "Taurinense" and the 27 brigade d'infantrie de montagne.
