Army Corps General Carmine Masiello, Chief of Staff of the Army, today visited the 185th "Folgore" parachute artillery regiment in Bracciano, to pay a respectful greeting to the unit's War Flag, who served as a first-assignment lieutenant in 1986 before becoming commander in 2008.

Welcomed by the regimental commander, Colonel Gianluca D'Alessio, General Masiello carried out the flag-raising ceremony with the Yellow Devils, heirs of the Amaranth Basques of the 185th, with whom he began his human and professional journey way back on January 3, 1986, once fully integrated into the operational reality of the armed force, at the end of the officer training cycle.

In greeting the staff, the head of EMS recalled how “Arriving the regiment was a difficult goal, achieved through commitment to study, sacrifices and sacrifices, all repaid by the enthusiasm, passion and spirit of institutional loyalty that animated - like today - every single paratrooper of the regiment. Be worthy heirs of those who preceded you, always united in the common duty of serving the Italian Republic to the best of your abilities, honoring the fallen and wounded in the performance of duty, loving your specialty and defending and protecting the values ​​by example , the ideals and traditions of the Army. The Armed Forces will always be at your side" - concluded General Masiello.

The 185th "Folgore" parachute artillery regiment passes down the deeds and valor of the "Yellow Devils", who fought heroically at El Alamein in 1942. It is the unit of the "Folgore" parachute brigade, responsible for ensuring indirect fire support, in every phase of the fight.
