In recent days the sappers of the 3rd sapper engineering regiment of the Italian Army have completed three different operations to clear wartime ordnance. The first intervention took place in the municipality of Cormons (GO), where a hand grenade found in a field was neutralized. In the municipality of Oderzo (TV) blasting operations were carried out on a 75mm HE (High Explosive) artillery grenade dating back to the First World War and, subsequently, in the municipality of Ponte di Piave (TV) the blasting operations were carried out to the destruction of small caliber ammunition found in the municipal area.

Finally, the engineers of the Italian Army carried out the blasting of an aircraft bomb weighing approximately 10 kg, dating back to the Second World War and found in the municipality of San Martino del Carso (GO). All operations were conducted by specialized CMD (Conventional Munition Disposal) personnel from Udine and were coordinated by the relevant prefectures and the command of the North Operating Forces of the Army of Padua.

The Italian Army, thanks to the ability of the Engineering departments to operate with other institutions, in addition to operational use, is able to intervene throughout the national territory in cases of public utility and in situations of natural disasters, demonstrating be a precious resource for the country.
