Oath at the Teulié Military School

The swearing-in ceremony of the students of the "FUMI III" course took place this morning at the Arco della Pace in Milan, in the presence of the president of the Senate of the Republic, sen. Ignazio La Russa, the Chief of Staff of the Army, Army Corps General Carmine Masiello and the Commander for the Training, Specialization and Doctrine of the Army, general of the army Carlo Lamanna.

At the end of the speech by the commander of the School, Colonel Antonio Calligaris and in the presence of the Institute Flag, decorated with the Bronze Medal for Army Valour, the 74 students of the "Teulié" Military School responded excitedly and in unison with a convinced and thunderous “Lo G​iuro!” to the usual ritual formula. The solemn act of loyalty to the Italian Republic establishes the full entry of the students into the ranks of the Army.

Addressing the students, the Army Chief of Staff underlined that “School is a place where you learn the value of being generous and available towards others and you learn to be courageous and aware; virtues that are strengthened in the sense of common duty and in the light of identity rules and a behavioral code based on discipline, cohesion and the teaching of military ethics. Be proud of your courageous choice, always demonstrating, whatever your dreams for the future, how solid the principles and values ​​you believe in are and how contagious the passion and enthusiasm of being a student of the 'Teulié' Military School can be . The truer the ideal of your unity, the richer in opportunities the future of future generations will be.".

The ceremony took place in the presence of the highest political, institutional and religious officials in the area such as the prefect of Milan, Dr. Claudio Sgaraglia, the Banner of the city of Milan and the representatives of the fighting and weapons associations.

The participation of the students' families was warm, arriving from all over Italy, excited and proud of the goal achieved by their children after the first intense semester of stay at the School. Finally, the presence of numerous former students of the Institute who gathered around the frequenting "brothers" was passionate and festive, resulting in a parade following the armed departments.

During the ceremony, the commander of the Teulié Military School returned the First Tricolor symbol of the "Five Days" of Milan kept at the school on these commemorative days to the president of the city council, Dr. Elena Buscemi.

​The “Teulié” Military School, like the “Nunziatella” Military School, is an Army higher institute which can be accessed through a public competition, the annual announcement of which is imminently issued. It offers students from classical and scientific high schools (also with a focus on applied sciences) the opportunity to attend the three-year course of studies, guaranteeing not only in-depth scholastic preparation in line with the educational programs provided by the Ministry of Education and Merit, but also adherence to its mission takes care of their physical and moral training, through a life focused on respecting the rules established by the military code of conduct.
