The IRON18 (International Raiders Operational Network) has recently concluded, a multilateral activity, desired, planned and conducted by the 9th "Col Moschin" Assault Regiment.
The activity involved a basic unit of "Col Moschin", one Special Operations Task Unit-Incursors, with experts elements of English, Belgian and French European joint units.
IRON18 was conducted in two different reference environments, namely urban and maritime, in a context of Against Terrorism. During the joint training, some helicopters of the 3rd "Aldebaran" regiment (Helicopter Regiment for Special Operations), dog operators, special military and civilian vehicles supplied, on civil and military structures insistent on the Tuscan and Lazio territory were used. Furthermore, activities were carried out on different types of ships at anchor and in navigation in the Tuscan archipelago.
The activity allowed the staff of the European FS to discuss the technical and tactical procedures of teams, the use of assets in support of special operations, weapons and equipment.
The 9 ° "Col Moschin" Assault Regiment participates annually in various exchanges at home and abroad with special units in the framework of national strategic planning for international cooperation and development.
