At the Cellina - Meduna shooting range in Vivaro (PN) the "Bragadin" exercise involving firing platoons of a rifle company of the "Serenissima" lagoon regiment was completed. The "Fanti da Mar" of the Army were employed for a week in an intense preparatory training for the achievement, by each soldier, of the specific fundamentals of their assignment, with the aim of improving basic operational skills and peculiar skills of the lagoon infantry.
Many of the topics dealt with: from the use of the weapon systems supplied (individual and on board), to the technical tactical procedures of the vehicles assigned to the unit to the capacity to use the radio equipment according to the rules of radio procedures and NATO messaging , to the management of firing squads.
For the occasion, within the Cellina - Meduna polygon a scenario was reproduced, with simulated objectives in the most realistic way possible, in a hypothetical hostile environment. The activity has seen the commanders at various levels work to develop and bring out those human qualities that can be used to make decisions and to complete the mission assigned in extremely difficult situations such as those that arise in military operations.
The exercise saw the widespread development of planning, organization and conduct of platoon attacks to a goal in a symmetrical conflict scenario, in a realistic training environment that prompted the staff to simultaneously face complex situations in full compliance with environmental standards in training of the highest quality but sustainable.
During the activity, Brigadier General Giovanni Parmiggiani, commander of the "Pozzuolo del Friuli" cavalry brigade, highlighted to all trained personnel how continuous, realistic and sustainable training is the raison d'etre of the military as it guarantees the necessary technical-professional and ethical preparation to successfully face all the challenges and tasks assigned to the Army on the national territory and in important missions abroad.
The "Serenissima" lagoon regiment is part of the "Pozzuolo del Friuli" cavalry brigade, it is the specialized infantry component of the National Projection Screening Capacity.
