The 90th "ALPHA" amphibious qualification course for the personnel of the departments of the "Pozzuolo del Friuli" brigade forming part of the "Serenissima" lagoon regiment was concluded. capability basket is preferably used for National Capability Projection from the Sea (CNPM).

The course, organized over five weeks, aims to enable participating personnel to conduct amphibious and riverine operations.

In particular, the participants carried out five modules aimed at amphibious training for the use of naval vehicles (inflatable boats, small boats, etc.) and amphibious vehicles (Assault Amphibious Vehicle) supplied to the regiment, as well as the ability to engage in combat in coastal, river and lagoon areas.

As part of the course, the skills for overcoming natural obstacles, behavior in the event of an emergency at sea, the Helicopter Rope Suspension Techniques (HRST), i.e. the use of descent and recovery techniques using ropes suspended on helicopters in stationary flight. Finally, the personnel learned concepts for first aid and the treatment of wounded in combat, and trained in the use of the radio equipment supplied to the brigade.

The course ended with a continuous exercise, during which the participants were able to put the teachings they had received to the test.

The commander of the "Serenissima" lagoon regiment, Colonel Ivan Falasca, in congratulating the new twenty-three amphibious qualifiers, highlighted the importance of the result achieved in anticipation of the full operational capacity of the CNPM scheduled for the end of 2024.

The participants in the course came not only from the lagoon regiment, but also from the 3rd sapper engineer regiment, from the 17th "Sforzesca" anti-aircraft artillery regiment, from the command and tactical support department "Cavalleggeri di Treviso" (28th) and from the "Pozzuolo" logistics regiment. of Friuli".
