“Battle Staff” tour of the 185th RRAO

A delegation from the 185th parachute regiment reconnaissance target acquisition “Folgore”, led by the commander, Colonel Marco Margutti, went to the historic sites of the “Herring” operation.​​​​

The visit began at the World War II museum in Felonica, where it was possible to see the historical artefacts recovered in the vast area of ​​Mantua straddling the two banks of the Po river.

The soldiers then went to the Dragoncello area of ​​Poggio Rusco where the mayor of Poggio Rusco, Fabio Zacchi, and representatives of the local section of the National Paratroopers Association of Italy (ANPDI) were waiting for them.

In particular, at the Tarragon war memorial, a minute of silence was dedicated to the fallen.

The tour ended in the Cà Bruciata area where twelve paratroopers fell in fierce combat.
