In recent days, in the territory of the Municipality of Erice in the Martogna area, a training activity was carried out by the 6 ° Bersaglieri regiment, aimed at refining the movement techniques in mountain and woodland at the platoon level.
The activity included a phase of preparation, planning and prompt conduct, and provided the opportunity to test the regiment platoons in some of the fighter's core capabilities.
In particular, the exercise included a test of topography and orienteering as well as tactical tasks at the premise of any activities in the wooded and mountain areas.
It should be emphasized that the training was also part of a wider context of surveillance of areas of possible interest in the fight against fires, an activity recently promoted by the Prefect of Trapani, Dr Darco Pellos, who wanted to increase the presence of men of the State in the areas of interest from the point of view of forest fire prevention that have heavily hit the territory of Trapani in recent years.
In this context, the carrying out of the training activity by the Bersaglieri actively contributes to preventing any criminal actions which, if discovered, would be promptly reported to the police.
