After an intense training course at the US Navy flight schools, the jet aircraft pilots, who in the United States obtain the qualification to fly on the AV8B aircraft, return to Italy and begin their training at the Aircraft Support Group Boarded (GRUPAER) of Grottaglie. Pilots confront Italian flight rules and study air-to-air combat tactics; they also begin to interact with the units of the Navy, achieving the ability to assemble (Carrier Qualification).
The helicopter pilots, on the other hand, upon returning from American flight schools, follow different training procedures according to the needs of the armed force, obtaining the qualification to fly on the EH-101 or SH-90 aircraft present in the air and naval bases of Luni-Sarzana , Grottaglie and Catania.
Having obtained the first qualifications for operational employment, the exciting adventure begins on board the units of the Naval Team of the Navy, where qualifications are obtained to participate in real operations, which will allow to acquire the specific "characteristic" in the form of anti-submarine combat (ASW) or naval helicopter assault (EA).
