Open Day in the Naval Academy

Saturday 21 January the Naval Academy of Livorno will open to all those who want to get to know the life of the officers of the Navy, offering the opportunity to visit the training institute in full swing.

The entrance from the Varco di San Jacopo represents the beginning of a fascinating journey that runs along the Viale dei Pini passing through the complex of Palazzo Allievi with its square and the historic Brigantino, Palazzo Studi with the "bridge" simulator, the areas dedicated to nautical sciences and the sports facilities of Villa Chayes.

On this occasion, the officers of the Naval Academy will answer directly to questions and curiosities.

There are still a few days left to try to pursue a career as an officer in the Navy and submit the application. The competition announcement, published with the Official Gazette no. 2 of 10 January 2017 - 4th Special Series, will end on 9 February. All young people aged between 17 and 22 years not yet completed, in possession of Italian citizenship, a high school diploma, or about to obtain it at the end of the current school year, can submit the application.

For the year 2017 there are 115 places available for admission to the 1st class of the Normal courses of the Naval Academy of Livorno, the university of the sea which, with seven specialized degree courses and various professional addresses, offers a training opportunity unique for boys and girls who want to immediately invest in their future to become sea professionals.

Each student will have the opportunity to attend graduate courses in government sciences and sea administration, telecommunications engineering, marine engineering, civil and environmental engineering, law, maritime and naval sciences, medicine and surgery.

During their training at the Academy, the official students will also carry out training activities on board the naval units and at the end of the course of studies they will be employed, indefinitely, in the armed force in relation to the specialization obtained.
