Alpine ship disrupts from New York

After four days of rest, Nave Alpine He left his moorings saying goodbye to New York City and heading to Boston, the next stop in the North American campaign. The unit was moored next to the Intrepid aircraft carrier, converted into a museum, a few blocks from the famous Times Square.

Multiple activities during the stop of the ship since the arrival, when a representation of the crew has deposited a memorial crown to Ground Zero, in memory of the victims of the '11 September'.

The unit then hosted the celebrations for the 2 June, Republic Day, in the presence of the Italian ambassador to the USA, Armando Varricchio.

Sunday 3 June on the unity of the Holy Mass was celebrated, attended by representatives of the National Sailors of Italy in the United States and the Italian community in New York. The New York stop has seen numerous visits on board.

The dislocation of the frigate Alpine it is part of the cooperation and training activities that the Navy conducts with allied nations, in order to promote interoperability between the navies and support multinational cooperation and dialogue between countries.

At the same time, this activity guarantees a qualified and technologically significant presence in countries with which Italy has important political-diplomatic, economic and military cooperation activities.

The campaign is also an important opportunity to promote the 'Country System' in an integrated way, flanking and supporting the great representatives of the national industry and also strengthening ties with Italian communities living abroad.
