Marine knots, landing simulations, decoding of flags and exercises with the remoergometer: demonstrative and educational activities aimed at celebrating the sea and that characterized "A Day with the Navy", the event dedicated to schools and families held in 3 days and 4 March at the "Explora" Museum in Rome.

A party dedicated to the sea, a symbol of cultural and economic growth not only of Italy but of the entire globe, around which ethics, adventure, solidarity and the environment revolve, as underlined by Rear Admiral Fabio Agostini, Head of Public Information and Marine Communication Military: "The sea, as well as the ships, is a "gym of life and strong passion", an educational environment with very specific behavioral codes. Bringing new generations closer to the sea therefore means instilling in them values such as loyalty, dedication, respect for the environment and assistance to others, but also team spirit, that sense of 'crew' that distinguishes men and women women of the Navy".

An initiative that arises from the convention signed last January 27 between the Navy and the SCS Children's Non-Profit Museum in Rome "Explora" and which envisages a collaboration in the field of education and training of children, in anticipation of a future in which the sea is no longer considered just a border, but a means of interaction for the social and economic development of the planet.

"The special attention that the Navy has always dedicated to spreading the culture of the sea - said Agostini - has given rise over the years to collaboration with various bodies and associations, promoting cultural and promotional initiatives aimed at spreading the founding values of our Armed Force. Addressing young people is fundamental as it means looking to the future of our country, a future in which the sea acquires an ever greater importance for the social and economic development of the planet, as well as recognized by various scientists and scholars who have indicated the current one as the blue century - the blue century. The initiative carried out with the Explora children's museum represented for them a moment of encounter with maritime culture and above all with the men and women of the Navy. The game, as well as the tales from our men of the sea, enriched by images and simulations, undoubtedly represents the most effective language to stimulate the curiosity of such a young and attentive audience.".

Those of the 3 and 4 March are only the first days fruit of the collaboration, but that have attracted the interest of numerous children: on the other hand if the "blue century" represents the future, it is on the new generations that we must aim.
