A calendar to say no to bulimia and anorexia. Twelve months in which women of different backgrounds, religions and ages break the silence that exists in Italy around eating disorders. The DonnaDonna non-profit association yesterday presented the seventh edition of the calendar entitled "Love saves" at the Hebrew hospital in Rome, together with the organizations and institutions that have given their contribution. Even the Navy did its part, thanks to the eight officers who posed on the grand staircase of Palazzo Marina.

The project has been declined in two versions: one, made with the Jewish communities and associations, and another with the institutions and the Armed Forces, including the Navy and the Carabinieri.

Rear Admiral Fabio Agostini, head of the public information and communication office of the Navy, was also present yesterday morning. "At sea, on the road or anywhere else - he has declared - the Navy leaves no one alone who needs help. And even in this case, we were pleased to make our contribution to spreading an important health message".

The images are by the photographer Salvatore Arnone and, in all of them, the protagonists hold a red rose, symbol of the association.

The dissemination of the calendar will be free and will start from the same Jewish hospital where today was announced among other things the opening of a listening center for eating disorders. In Italy about 3 millions of people come to terms with bulimia and anorexia, without considering the "submerged" of cases not evident or not declared. Most of the patients are female, between 12 and 25 years, but the symptoms are increasing among girls from 8 years and women of menopause. Finally, more and more numerous are the male cases.

The creator of the calendar is the actress Nadia Accetti who during the presentation said that she herself had been a patient for over ten years. "In the Talmud - said the artist - it is written that the sick person returns to youth when he heals. And so it is, today I feel like a child. Now I am reborn, I am finally free and I have decided to dedicate my life to prevention by telling as many people as possible that winning is possible. Food is not the enemy to fight, it is hunger for love and life. Thanks to the institutions that helped us to shout this message".
