On Saturday 16 March 36 attendees of the 28th fixed-term officer student course of the Naval Academy of Livorno swore loyalty to the Republic in the presence of the Flag of the Institute and in the presence of the commander of the Naval Academy, Rear Admiral Lorenzano Di Renzo, and of the civil and military authorities of the city of Livorno.

The students have reached this important moment at the end of a short but intense training course that began on January 30th and will see them busy until April 26th. At the end of the training course, the students will wear the "bollard" and will be sent to their respective destinations on board the ships and to the Navy's on-shore institutions.

Before pronouncing the formula of the oath, Admiral Di Renzo, in a passage of his speech, after having thanked the guests for having shared this unforgettable moment of their careers with the students, addressed the sworn candidates: “I hope you abandon yourself to this new experience with enthusiasm and passion. Your commitment will join that of all Navy personnel to contribute to the peace and stability of the International Community".
