"LUX IGNIS III" tutorial

In recent days, for the "Pinerolo" brigade, the exercise "LUX IGNIS III" has begun in the occasional polygon of Torre di Nebbia, a training area within the Alta Murgia National Park in Puglia.

Until the 23 May 2014, for a total of 26 days, around 1400 men and women divided into five meetings built close to as many farms, in complete logistic autonomy, will carry out a series of activities connected primarily with the achievement of the training objectives for the premise of 'entry of the unit into the Lebanese operational theater.

The specific training, which involves theoretical and practical activities, is aimed at refining and standardizing the use of operating procedures, increasing both the amalgamation between the departments, in view of the commitment outside the national territory, and between the actual staff at the " Pinerolo ”and the augustes who will go to constitute the core-staff of the Joint Task Force Lebanon.

With the staff of the "Pinerolo" brigade command the amalgam activity involves the "Cavalleggieri Guide" regiment (19 °), the 7 ° Bersaglieri regiment, the 11 ° genius guastolini regiment, the 2 transmissions regiment, the 7 ° NBC regiment, the 33 regiment EW (Electronic Warfare), the 10 transport regiment and from the command department and tactical supports Pinerolo.

During the weapon field, in view of achieving the objectives indicated by the 2 ° FOD system and the armed force directives, the experimentation of the digitalised command posts (PCD) of brigade (T6 node) and regiment (T5 node) will continue .

In particular, the latter objective will see the verification (stress test) of the data flow between platforms and nodes (useful for displaying a Common Operational Picture (COP) on command and control systems) and integration with Blue Force Tracking systems (BFT), Functional Area Service (FAS) and computerized fire management system (SIF).

Other training activities will also be developed, conducted by the 9 infantry regiment "Bari", the 82 infantry regiment "Turin", the 183 regiment parachutist, the 21 ground artillery regiment "Trieste", the 2 army aviation regiment Sirio with 2 helicopters, from the "Lancieri di Montebello" regiment (8 °) with 6 pairs on horseback, from the carabinieri of the 2 ° FOD command, from CEMIVET personnel with the Mines Detection Dogs (MDD) dog units.
