From 14 to 18 March 2022, at the headquarters of the 132nd "Ariete" land artillery regiment in Maniago (PN), a training and familiarization activity for the staff of the regiment with the ANPRC-152 satellite radios supplied to the Armed Force.

This need, which arose as a result of the latest specialty training activities in 2021, was initiated thanks to the support of the 132nd “Ariete” armored brigade which made available the specialized personnel of the command department employee.

In particular, this training included a theoretical phase in which the staff were illustrated the radio equipment and a subsequent phase in which what they had learned in the classroom was put into practice. The activity, carried out with a dedicated satellite channel, was aimed at increasing training and providing the necessary tools for the use of satellite radio equipment to personnel who carry out key tasks in the field of use of the PZH2000 weapon system on the ground.

The use of digitized satellite links, already tested by the regiment with the support of the Bracciano Artillery command, allows all the assets making up the Artillery system deployed over long distances using traditional and new generation ammunition, such as ammunition Volcano.

In this context, an opportunity was also given to the second lieutenants of the land artillery section of the 199th "Osare" course, currently attending the Turin Application School, who visited the 132nd "Ariete" land artillery regiment on 15 days and March 16, to be able to make a first real contact with the operational life of the units.

During the two days in Maniago, the Officers, after being welcomed by the regimental commander, Colonel Paolo Dalle Vedove, and greeted the War Flag, visited the museum room of the "Baldassarre" barracks, where they were able to appreciate relics and testimonies of the glorious past of unity, as well as knowing its main historical events. Subsequently they attended a presentation on the composition of the regiment, on the means provided and on the most important operational and training commitments of the unit.

Particularly appreciated by the Lieutenants was the opportunity to follow the activities that normally take place in the garrison and, above all, the specialty training carried out in the Cellina-Meduna area.
