The visit of the 2nd Orion Army Aviation Support Regiment to the Sant'Orsola Malpighi Hospital in Bologna took place yesterday afternoon. The meeting took place in the presence of the regimental commander Colonel Vincenzo Recano and prof. Andrea Pession, director of the Department of "Pediatric Hematology and Oncology".

The initiative was designed to bring a smile and a carefree moment to the young hospitalized patients. The meeting with the children was thrilling when, surprisingly, Santa Claus and his helper, the Green Elf, entered the ward rooms, cheering the young patients with their sympathy and the delivery of toys and personal gifts, thought ad hoc for each of them. To entertain the enthusiastic children, even the staff in flight suits who caught the attention of the children, to whom they asked curious questions and tender smiles.

The event was possible thanks to the funds raised during the 2nd edition of the "Babbocopter" on 15 December, held at the "Fausto Pesci" military airport, headquarters of the 2nd Orion, allowing the purchase of other toys and various materials to equip the common play and recreation area.

The afternoon, short but profound in meaning, ended with a moment of meeting between the blue Basques and the medical team, testifying to the spirit of solidarity and generosity of the men and women of the 2nd Orion and their social commitment, favor of Bolognese citizens.
