In recent days, in the splendid setting of the "Soccorso Saloni" barracks, home of the Army NCOs, two hundred marshal students, among whom eighteen women, of the 17 ° "Courage" course, received the rank of marshal at the end of the two year training period.

At the event, presided over by the commander of the training institute in Viterbo, Brigadier General Gabriele Toscani De Col, there were many local, civil and religious authorities. Significant the usual, heartfelt participation of family members and friends of the newly promoted students who, coming from different regions of Italy, took part actively in the exciting ceremony personally handing the rank of marshal to their relatives.

General Toscani De Col, addressing the neo-marshals, future platoon commanders of the armed forces emphasized that "the degree you wear, as you certainly know, gives you formal authority, respect, which alone will not be sufficient to effectively exercise your role as commanders. To be good commanders also requires authority, respectability, and this does not reside in ourselves but must be conquered".

After the awards ceremony of the students who had distinguished themselves in the various disciplines during the two years of study, there was the change of the commander of the martial arts regiment. Colonel Flavio Lauri, after more than two years, left the regiment's leadership to take up another post at the Simulation and Validation Center of the Civitavecchia Army (CESIVA). Instead, Colonel Raffaele Vladimir Forgione, who came from the Military Command of the Capital, took over.

The new marshals, who have passed the exam in the past few days, will leave the Viterbo Non-commissioned School next January to reach the Schools of Weapons and Specialties where they will complete their three-year training course, after which 183 of them will graduate in "Political Sciences and International Relations" and 17 in "Nursing".
