“UNA ACIES 2023”

(To Army Majority State)
20/07/23

This morning, at the Monte Romano shooting range (VT), the Army Chief of Staff, Army Corps General Pietro Serino, attended the training activities related to the development of the "UNA ACIES 2023" exercise.

Received from commander for training, specialization and doctrine of the Army (COMFORDOT), general of the army corps Carlo Lamanna, the head of EMS was able to assist in the training phases of the students of the training institutes and of the commands and schools of the Italian Army.

The exercise began with the officers attending the Application School of the Army of the Artillery which, after the acquisition of the target on the ground by the observer unit, forwarded the request for intervention to the command post of the fire delivery unit, for the subsequent intervention of a section of howitzers (PZh2000 and FH-70), with fire observation by fire control units (FST).

Subsequently, the officers frequenting the Arma del Genio carried out, under the supervision of the instructor staff, blasting and demolition to slow down and divert an enemy unit in order to have it conveyed to a well-defined area, prepared for the intervention of artillery fire.

Afterwards, the Authorities attended the presentation, by the officers of the 201st course, of the study of the defense of sensitive targets on the ground using the "Stinger" short-range ground-to-air anti-aircraft weapon system.

Finally, the student marshals of the XXIV course of the Officers' School of the Army conducted an infantry platoon fire exercise on VBMs Arrow in attack.

The head of SME, congratulating the trained students and instructors for what they have done, in underlining the centrality of human personnel and their continuous training, as a fundamental resource for the armed force, urged everyone to be the first example for their own men and women. Gaining their trust, he added, is the first goal of a commander, a role that is not simple but full of rewards.
