Trident Juncture 2015: Brigade Sassari heads his training simulating scenarios of international crises

Yesterday, in the polygon of Capo Teulada in Sardinia, the NATO exercise Trident Juncture saw another important training event that involved the "Sassari" mechanized brigade, which gave birth to a multinational brigade in which Albanian, American, Austrian, German and Hungarian units were present, committed to facing an international crisis by operating under the mandate of the Nations United.

An exercise that was attended by the Chief of Defense Staff, General Claudio Graziano, the Chief of Staff of the Albanian Defense, General Jeronim Bazo, the Chief of Staff of the Army, General Danilo Errico and the Commander of the joint force command of Brunssum, General Hans-Lothar Domrose.

The activity, directed by the commander of the Sassari general brigade b. Arturo Nitti, took place with the simulation of a terrestrial intervention with the support of Army helicopters, AMX airplanes of the Italian Air Force and with the support of an artillery brigade that saw an Italian and an American unit work together .

The unit of maneuver that led the main operation consisted of men of the 3 ° Bersaglieri regiment in which was inserted, for the first time in such an important international exercise, a company of the Albanian army.

The Trident Juncture tutorial - highlighted General Graziano - it is an important demonstration of presence, of strength, in a particular moment in which we are committed to fighting terrorism, ISIS and in protecting new threats coming from the East and from the South.

The presence here, of soldiers from different nations, but also of their military leaders, demonstrates how strong our commitment, determination and cooperation is to guarantee security, both internal and external. - added the head of SMD.

The Chief of Staff of the Army in expressing his great satisfaction with the activity carried out, stressed that the Army has capitalized on this training opportunity to refine its capabilities to operate in an integrated and international context. Abilities that must be combined with "intangible elements", which must never lack, like the fighting spirit, a capable leadership and unity cohesion, which are key elements to successfully counter threats.
