SIAT program test

12/07/14

In recent days, the Granatieri di Sardegna brigade unit carried out tactical platoon exercises at the Monte Romano shooting range (VT) in order to test the SIAT program (Integrated Systems for Terrestrial Training), program of the armed force used to train units and individual fighters, support operational decisions and develop new weapon systems.

The SIAT program, based on the environment and the training target to be achieved, is divided into three systems: virtual, aimed at conducting training on weapons systems or on individual departmental weapons in an artificially reproduced environment such as a flight simulator; live, provided to soldiers and vehicles performing real training exercises in the exercise areas; constructive, that is the training of the staff to carry out the operational command and control function on the dependent units.

In this context, a reinforced platoon of the 1 regiment "Granatieri di Sardegna" conducted, as part of the live system, a quick team and platoon attack with reaction and ambush activities.

In this regard, the commander of the grenadiers - Brigadier General Maurizio Riccò, said he was proud of the contribution provided by the grenadier "soldier", increasingly integrated into the new concept systems and confident that the brigade, now oriented to use in multiple operational contexts international, you will be ready in any circumstances.
