Safe Roads, an arrest in Naples

An Italian Army patrol, operating in Naples as part of the "Safe Roads" operation, intervened to stop a young man who had attempted to rob a woman with a cutting weapon.

During a regular patrol activity in the Forcella area in Naples, the military of the Campania grouping were activated by a police radio communication about an armed robbery attempt immediately by a woman in Piazza Garibaldi by a thug who had fled in the direction of Corso Umberto I.

Army soldiers noticed a man who corresponded to the description given by radio by the police and intervened to stop him. On arrival, the police patrol recognized the perpetrator of the attempted theft, a young man from 22 who had come from Gambia with a criminal record, and proceeded to take him to the local police station. Denounced for attempted robbery, the young man was subsequently arrested.

The defense of the territory and of the sensitive points by the soldiers of the Italian Army, in service in the "Safe Roads" operation, is carried out jointly with the police to raise the security level of our cities.
