The military, working in support of the police, promptly blocked and identified the two suspects, thus managing to prevent the attempted robbery. The Italian Army participates, from August of 2008, in the "Safe Roads" operation in competition and jointly with the Police Forces, guaranteeing security and crime prevention, through the control of sensitive points and the patrolling of city areas.
