"Safe Roads": paratroopers intervene and stop a drug "courier"

(To Army Majority State)
28/08/15

In the very central Via Magnolfi in Prato, an Army patrol intercepted and stopped a person who, at the sight of the operators, swallowed a shell of a substance that had not been verified.

The carabinieri, who intervened on the spot following the report of the paratroopers, identified and took over the 26-year-old individual, taking him to the city hospital. The diagnostic tests, following the detention, made it possible to highlight the presence of 13 ova inside the stomach of the man who claimed not to know their contents, being he, a "courier".

Once the envelopes were found, the authorities proceeded to issue the related court order.

Territorial control and identification procedures are among the prerogatives of Army soldiers engaged in the "Safe Roads" Operation.
