"Safe Roads": paratroopers in action in several railway stations

06/07/15

This last weekend saw the paratroopers of the Folgore brigade employed in Tuscany in the "Safe Roads" operation, engaged on several occasions to maintain security and public order in competition with the Police Forces.

In fact, in the "Pisa Centrale" station, the paratroopers of the Training Center of Parachuting in Pisa, intervened to quell an altercation between two individuals who had with them blunt objects.

After the intervention of the police, one of the two was detained and taken to the police station for subsequent investigations, for resistance to a public official.

In the railway junction of "Livorno Centrale", the Amaranth Basques of the "Folgore" command and tactical supports department lent the first intervention to extinguish a fire outbreak, inadvertently caused by a citizen who was promptly recalled and identified. Almost simultaneously, in the "Prato Centrale" station, the paratroopers patrol intervened to quell a violent brawl. At the end of the fight, one of the attackers was detained while the second managed to escape. The attacker was instead rescued by the 118.

The intense activity of the paratroopers at the weekend shows, once again, how the "Safe Roads" operation continues to guarantee the protection and safeguard of the citizen, especially in places with high attendance such as railway stations.
