Venice, a patrol of the Italian Army, belonging to the "Serenissima" Lagoon Regiment employed in the "Safe Roads" Operation in the Jewish ghetto of Venice stopped, in competition with the personnel of the Guardia di Finanza, an individual of Moldovan nationality who with the help of a compatriot had attacked and robbed a man in the area called "Ghetto novo".
It is from August 2008 that the Lagoon Regiment, reporting directly to the Northern Defense Forces Command, participates in the "Safe Roads" operation in Venice in competition and jointly with the Police Forces to guarantee the safety and prevention of petty crime.
