"Safe Streets" in Milan: intensified controls in the key points of the Lombard capital

Over the weekend just passed, the Army soldiers carried out several important interventions in the Milanese city.

At the Central railway station, during a joint activity with the police, several foreigners were identified and a woman was arrested because of a warrant for her arrest.

In Garibaldi station, on the other hand, a patrol stopped a man in a state of drunkenness in the act of crime who had just committed theft in a nearby supermarket.

Finally, an elderly fainted woman was rescued at the Loreto underground stop. The military provided the first aid while awaiting the arrival of the 118 health workers.

The increase in the number of soldiers engaged in the "Safe Roads" operation in the metropolitan area of ​​Milan has already brought evident results in a few days: four complaints, three seizures of drugs and three arrests. From the 2008 the Army guarantees, in collaboration with the public security authorities, the surveillance of sensitive targets such as the Duomo, railway stations, airports and areas at greatest risk.
