"Safe Roads": Intense activity for paratroopers

01/07/15

In the last few hours, the paratroopers of the 185th "Folgore" Paratrooper Artillery carried out an intervention in the "Statuto" Railway Station in Florence. In particular, they proceeded to stop and identify an individual walking along the tracks; the subject, without documents, carried a backpack containing copper of dubious origin.

From the subsequent checks carried out by the law enforcement agencies, it turned out that he, without a fixed abode, had several criminal records for theft, drunk driving and possession of counterfeit currency.

A few kilometers away, in the city of Prato, a patrol of the 183 Parachute Regiment "Nembo" on patrol in the first outskirts of the city noticed a man and a woman lying on the ground, unconscious. The patrol leader promptly alerted the police and the 118 which, following identification, were taken to the local emergency room for investigations.
