Yesterday was a Sunday of intense activity for the military of Safe Roads of the group Campania who operate under the command of the "Cavalleggeri Guide" Regiment (19 °).
Near the Central Station of Naples a patrol intervened to rescue a girl who was harassed by an individual. At the sight of the military, the man tried to escape, but after a brief chase he was stopped and handed over to the carabinieri. The girl, in a state of confusion, was taken to the hospital and the molester was arrested.
Also in Naples, during a patrol on Corso Umberto I, the Army soldiers were alerted by passers by of the presence of a man in a strong state of agitation, armed with a gun and with a needle stuck in his arm. The patrol first calmed the individual and then persuaded to lay the weapon on the ground, which turned out to be a toy gun. In the meantime, the carabinieri arrived on the scene and transported the man, without papers, to the nearby hospital.
Moreover, in the territory of Villa Literno (CE) and Casalnuovo (NA), during the patrolling of the Terra dei Fuochi, two illegal spills were identified. In both cases the military seized people in flagrante delicto who were then handed over to the Police Forces.
The Army soldiers, since August 2008, with a constant and widespread presence preside over the territory, in competition and jointly with the Police Forces, to increase the security level of the citizens.
