20/06/15

The soldiers involved in the Operation Safe Roads, within the framework of the Lazio - Umbria Abruzzo Grouping, became the protagonists of a control activity culminating in the arrest of a person.

At the "Ostiense" railway interchange, a patrol of the 7 Alpine Regiment was alerted by a passer-by regarding the presence of a woman of Romanian nationality who tried to defraud her by selling goods of dubious origin.

When the military intervened, they proceeded to identify and check the documents, placing her in custody. The intervention of a police patrol present was then requested, which proceeded with the search during which some cell phones and counterfeit rings were found hidden under the skirt and in the handbag. The magistrate, informed, ordered the arrest of the woman.

The favorable event bears witness to the effective and professional contribution provided by the units that make up the Grouping, which daily ensure a vigilant and constant presence of FA military personnel in the Capital area, in Lazio and in the neighboring regions of Umbria and Abruzzo.

The Italian Army has participated, since August 2008, in the "Safe Roads" operation in competition and jointly with the Police Forces, guaranteeing safety and crime prevention, through the control of sensitive points and the patrolling of city areas. "
