Application School: The 143 ° Major Staff Course was inaugurated

At Palazzo Arsenale, headquarters of the Training Command and Army Application School, was opened the 143 ° Major State Course.

222 Army captains, among them 23 women and four foreign officers from Brazil, China and Egypt will be the protagonists of an advanced training project lasting one year that will enable them to work in the staff of Italian and multinational units, in operations conducted on the national territory and abroad.

Future military executives, belonging to all Arms and Weapons of the Armed Forces, come from the operational, logistical, erritorial, educational and infrastructural areas. With significant experience gained in international contexts such as Afghanistan, Lebanon, the Balkans, Iraq and missions also conducted in peculiar places such as Antarctica, Mali, Djibouti and Haiti, the 143 ° course attendants will deepen at the School of Application their knowledge of disciplines such as military history, English language, humanitarian law, crisis management techniques, military psychology and leadership. Numerous practical exercises in which will be examined the operational scenarios in which the Army also acts with "dual use"At the service of civil society.

During the inauguration ceremony, Professor Luigi Bonanate, emeritus of the University of Turin and an expert on international relations and human rights, retraced the history of the General Staff courses on the occasion of the 150 anniversary of their establishment.

The commander for the Training and Application School of the Army, General Claudio Berto, addressing the representatives of the institutions of the territory and the official goers reiterated that: "wearing the stars means serving the country with generosity, professionalism, self-sacrifice always putting the good of the community to the needs of a personal nature".
