Ski mountaineering, Robert Antonioli is world champion

The World Ski Mountaineering Championships, hosted this year in Verbier, Switzerland, couldn't have started better. The championships begin with the sprint race with two Alpine troops at the start: the corporal chosen Denis Trento and the corporal Robert Antonioli.

Antonioli was the great protagonist of the day: after reaching the final in an agile manner, in the last act of the day the fight with the German Rottmoser was tightened. Rottmoser starts very hard, Antonioli chases a few meters, but in the uphill stretch the alpine accelerates sensibly and leads to the command. The progression of the blue seems to be decisive, but a change of the wrong structure reopens the race. The German is back in command, but at the last and decisive change the blue is perfect and leaps again in the head before the last descent. Here Antonioli shows off all his downhill skills and, checking the return of Rottmoser, crosses the finish line with his arms raised and goes to win the gold medal.

To underline also the 6 ^ square conquered by Denis Trento, finally returned to the levels that belong to him. Robert Antonioli thus becomes the third alpine in this season, to take the title of world champion after the major caporal Luca Matteotti, world champion in snowboardcross, and the major caporal Roland Fischnaller, world champion in the slalom of alpine snowboarding.

Overall, the world championship medals rise to five, given that beyond those just mentioned there are the bronzes of Corporal Michela Moioli and Corporal Sandra Robatscher.
