The regiment, which will constitute the November 10 2014 on the Viterbo Fabbri airport, inherits the war flag of the 3 air force regiment "Aldebaran" which operated up to the 1998 from the base of Bresso (MI).
The unit will initially be placed in the ambit of the army aviation brigade to transit to the command of the special army forces at the end of the acquisition path of the entire spectrum of necessary capabilities.
The regiment, which will be equipped with AB412, NH90 and CH47 aircraft, is placed under the command of Colonel Andrea Di Stasio, coming from the Army General Staff and already head of the reconstitution team.
