Memorandum of understanding between "Celio" and "San Giovanni"

It was signed today, in the presence of the Minister of Defense Roberta Pinotti, the President of the Lazio Region Nicola Zingaretti and the Chief of Staff of the Army, General Claudio Graziano a protocol of understanding between the military polyclinic of Rome "Celio" and the "San Giovanni Addolorata" hospital company.

The document, signed by General Mario Alberto Germani, director of the military clinic "Celio" and by Dr. Ilde Coiro, director of the hospital "S. Giovanni Addolorata", defines a mutual collaboration for the promotion, the institution, the organization and the development of activities of common interest in the public health sector through the use of the resources, structures and means of their respective endowments in order to allow synergies such as to guarantee excellent quality standards for civil and military users.

The collaboration between the Defense Staff and the Lazio region provides, in fact, the definition and implementation of dual programs, experimental activities, projects and studies of common interest aimed at creating paths for assistance to onco-hematology patients and ischemic heart disease patients who can be treated by joint medical and civilian medical and nursing teams.

Among the advantages deriving from the signing of the agreement, increasingly punctual and concrete interventions in favor of patients, a greater integration of human resources and a continuous professional growth of doctors and nurses of both hospitals.

Minister Pinotti affirmed that the memorandum of understanding "represents an important sign of the opening of the armed forces and of availability towards the needs of the country. We are very happy to have done it quickly: it is from May that we are working on it and therefore we have done a good job ". General Graziano in his speech stressed the importance of "the synergy of civil and military excellence in the health field, to support society and therefore citizens qualitatively and quantitatively". The Celio military hospital thus represents cutting-edge health excellence, engaged in the most specialized disciplines of medicine and surgery. The medical and paramedical personnel of the military polyclinic, thanks to the many activities carried out in the national territory and to the experiences gained in the theaters of operation, guaranteeing high health standards also for the benefit of the Country System.
